this pictures is expressing the love of palestine and Jerusalem in every Palestinian person.

conference four

Betselm

“YATA” is the name of that place in where the occupation did a lot of terrible things. Like training on people to make them leave their land and else to leave earth at all. And I agree with the Geneva Convention that the people whose under war must the occupation keep on their lives not kill them and they must respect the human beings rights like to keep them alive.

conference three

The Separation Wall

It was a very wonderful conference the discussion was interesting. This course aim is to see how do we live Jerusalem? And what is forbidding us from living it? So one of the problems is the separation wall. And the question is how did the Wall influenced on us?
1- Many Palestinians obliged to leave their land and homes. So there is no place to go , they must live in the streets.
2- Many families separated from each other, no way to visit each other.
3- Peasants after taking their farms have no other source for living. (imagine what could they do?)
4- Students are spread into streets couldn’t reach to their schools, so they will be kept in streets instead of learning good education they will get streets bad education.
5- The girls who want to marry a guy from other country, they couldn’t meet at all.
6- The people that were living in the Palestinian territory they needed to leave their homes for not losing their identity cards.

Conference two

Memory and the Literary Imagination

Suad here spoke about the living through occupation that is not fake or compositon its from her real life in Ramallah through the Israeli occupation. So she informed about the frustrations, cabin fever, and downright misery of daily life in the west bank town in Ramallah, with its curfews, roadblocks, house-to-house searches, and violence. And also she wrote about the enormous difficulty of moving from one place to another, the torture of falling in love with someone from another town, the absurdity of her dog receiving a Jerusalem identity card when thousands of Palestinians could not do so, and the impossibility of acquiring a gas mask from the Israeli Civil Administration during the first Gulf War in 1991. There are also the challenges of shopping during curfew breaks, the trials of having her 92 year old mother in law living in her house during a 42 day curfew, and thoughts on Israel’s Separation Wall.
While galit wrote about Jerusalem in her Zionist opinion, so she described Jerusalem as mother, daughter, prostitute!!!!! Different cultures passed in Jerusalem and adorned its hills with pearls and that means as I understood that she meant that its owr time to adorn til another can come and take this land.
And from the writing I learned more differences about both cultures because every writer uses its cultural words.

Conference one

Introduction to the Jerusalem Festival Project

Saud Amiry here concentrated on an important subject which it is east and west Jerusalem which the occupation did. So whose Jerusalem we are talking about or the Washington festival is done for? Arab Jerusalem? Moslem or Christian Jerusalem?
Divided, Jewish occupied Jerusalem? As also Suad spoke about the peasants who came from the near and far Palestinian villages to sell fresh vegetables and fruits in Damascus gate in Jerusalem and how they suffer to reach to Jerusalem and in Jerusalem they suffer more by the Israeli police which kick the peasants out and take all what they have. And I agree with Albert who said that “ Jerusalem is a city where people is carrying mirrors” that means there are several cultures are printed here for different people. While galit was speaking about Jerusalem from a political side and about the attempts for peace which failed. And she spoke that there are cultural exchange between America and israel. At the end there is no united folklore for Jerusalem.
